SILVER LAKE CONCEPTS

The owner of the property had been working with a designer for over a year when she reached out to me looking for additional design concepts that might resolve the issues she had with her home while attempting to stay within a specific budget. I provided zoning analysis for the property along with schematic design ideas that I felt addressed the concerns with circulation, inside/outside adjacency, and visual connections.

The existing master suite and bedroom #2 were a later addition built by a previous owner. With two young children, the circulation going from the public to private spaces in the back of the house was problematic as one had to go through a bedroom to get to the master suite. The kitchen was isolated and provided a visual barrier for watching the children when she was needed in the kitchen. Also, the beautifully designed back yard was not easily accessible and was visually blocked from inside the house. The options provided showed a range of budgets and scope,
